Quality Assurance / Food Safety Intern - Summer 2026

As a Quality Assurance/Food Safety intern at Lakeside Foods Manitowoc Packaging Center, you will gain knowledge and understanding of the business through hands on activities, coaching, and projects. The Quality Assurance/Food Safety intern will work primarily on the production floor and in the QA Lab, making a tangible impact on the products we deliver.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Performs meaningful technical tasks that support quality and food safety processes.
• Collaborate with teams across the facility to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain product quality.
• Gain an understanding of FDA regulations while conducting audits on key programs such as allergen management, foreign material control, and GMPs.
• Contribute to special projects that make an impact on our operations
• Help support Food Safety Culture activities.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Enrollment in a 4-year degree program with emphasis in food science, biology or related field
• A genuine passion for science and curiosity to learn
• Strong communication skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills 
• High capacity for attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
