Quality Assurance Intern

Lakeside Foods is looking for a Quality Assurance Intern from June 1 through November 20th (estimated timeframe).

 

Responsible to perform a variety of duties to ensure that the highest quality & safest product is produced by meeting or surpassing the company and government regulated standards. 

 

Position emphasis is placed on monitoring the quality and safety of product, performing inspections and audits in keeping with the program requirements of SAFE QUALITY FOODS (SQF), HAZARD ANALYSIS CRITITICAL CONTROL POINTS (HACCP) and FDA/WDA Standards.

 

Job Tasks include:

  • Be able to perform all QA functions & assist with training of seasonal employees
  • Work with QA lead to give direction to QA techs and ensure completion of all QA checks are done correctly
  • Involvement in review of daily process records for learning purposes
  • Assist with inputting daily product grades after QA record review
  • Assist in conducting record reviews of customer complaints and maintaining a customer complaint investigation register
  • Assist in managing the process for putting product on hold and assist the plant/warehouse staff with this process
  • Work with the QA Manager to update the QSM procedure and documentation registers as procedures are changed which are issued and initiated by corporate
  • Assist with lab equipment assessment to ensure that it is in proper working condition
  • Perform periodic inspections of the glass and brittle plastic, sanitation process and food safety audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management
  • Ability to work at a proficient pace, be self-directed and maintain specific job assignments throughout entire shift.
  • Follow all company regulations and policies as directed in Employee Orientation & Job Training, and complete all job tasks with Employee Safety as #1 priority at all times.
  • Report any Employee Safety, Food Safety and Production hazards or concerns immediately to Leadsperson, Supervisor or Management.
