What You’ll Do:
- Install and monitor performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement.
- Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
- Repair and maintain motor control centers and programmable logic controls (1000 volt and below).
- Make emergency repairs when necessary to offset excessive downtime and production delays.
- Maintain centralized and subsidiary boards, generators, and substation installations.
- Plan electrical secondary system additions or modifications.
- Read, employ, and update electrical panel schedules.
- Proceed on assignments with minimum supervision and guidance.
- Observe and comply with safety precautions, utilizing extreme care on troubleshooting and repairs where high voltages are involved.
- Notify Operations Manager immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered.
- Diagnose and repair or replace faulty printed circuit boards.
- Be able to write, monitor and troubleshoot complex PLC programs.
- Be able to read and draw electrical blue prints and schematics.
- Troubleshoot and repair printers, metal detectors, scales, and filler systems.
- Be able to tear down and set up fillers, baggers, and other equipment needed for the daily operation of the lines.
- Document project details and update client records.
- Provide material cost and time estimates.
- Provide support, training, and guidance to Journeyman Electrician and apprentice.
- Adhere to specifications outlined in codes and safety guidelines.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Adhere to all Lakeside Foods policies and procedures.
What You’ll Bring:
- Must be certified by the State to meet all requirements necessary to hold a Master Electrician rating

To become a Master Electrician in Minnesota, you must:
· Graduate from an accredited college or university with a four-year electrical course
· Have at least one year of experience as a licensed journeyworker
· Have at least five years of experience in planning, laying out, supervising, and installing electrical
wiring, apparatus, or equipment
· Pass a written exam
· Provide evidence of sufficient electrical work experience

- Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position.
- Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test 1000 volt and below electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances.
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for secondary systems 1000 volt and below.
- Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written and oral, or diagram form.
