Repair and maintain a variety of pea and corn processing equipment located within the plant.


  • Must uphold and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the efficient flow of the assigned area and the major repair and maintenance of all machinery in the assigned area.
  • Assist with training seasonal employees in the safe, proper and efficient operation of equipment to which they are assigned.
  • In the off season, will be involved in any number of maintenance activities including machine/freezer repair/overhaul, cleaning, building walkways and work platforms, and assisting in the installation of new processing equipment.
  • Maintain work area in clean and orderly manner.
  • Must obtain general knowledge of an area of Company’s processing equipment; its operation, and preventative maintenance and repair.
  • Notify Management immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered.
  • Must possess a complete set of industrial tools or willing to purchase.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months to one year related experience and/or training.
  • Must have at least entry level knowledge of mechanical maintenance.

Language skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret to documents such as safely rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out assignment.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands or arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance or stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
